And just to eliminate anyone saying it's gelcoat, the upper and lower hoods ARE painted.

Not the fanciest solution, but this stuff is a pretty close match. And if you ride one of these like they should be ridden they are going to chip, crack, or peel pretty often. Regardless of what you use. So IMO your best off doing something cheap and easy so it's reasonable to redo it every other season or so.

Just the hood so that pic gives you a good idea of the color match. How close it is depends on the lighting you view it under, but full sun is the most important imo. The upper hood on that ski was also painted with the same stuff but obviously black. Holds up pretty well, even to gas, but like I said you really can't count on anything lasting very long on smc.

Nope, just the paint. Do the first coat really light and then at least 3 more as heavy as you can w/o running. Most times this will get you a really good finish with this stuff but if not it color sands just fine.
