Blaster 1996 red blaster paint code

Any one know a paint code that works for the red '96 in PPG prefferably but any brand would work. thanks

And just to eliminate anyone saying it's gelcoat, the upper and lower hoods ARE painted.

Not the fanciest solution, but this stuff is a pretty close match. And if you ride one of these like they should be ridden they are going to chip, crack, or peel pretty often. Regardless of what you use. So IMO your best off doing something cheap and easy so it's reasonable to redo it every other season or so.

Dustin did you paint the whole ski with that or just the hood?

Just the hood so that pic gives you a good idea of the color match. How close it is depends on the lighting you view it under, but full sun is the most important imo. The upper hood on that ski was also painted with the same stuff but obviously black. Holds up pretty well, even to gas, but like I said you really can't count on anything lasting very long on smc.

did you use a clear over it and if so what kind? some of those clears turn the paint a yellow color

Nope, just the paint. Do the first coat really light and then at least 3 more as heavy as you can w/o running. Most times this will get you a really good finish with this stuff but if not it color sands just fine.

Ok cool thanks I just sanded it down today and did some fiberglass repair work. Tomorrow I plan on getting it primmered.

That came out real good for just a spray can! Did you wet sand that when you were done and if so what grit did you use? And which red did you use?
