1991 superjet rebuild

It's really easy, since physical appearance of the 650 and 701 is quite similar, Except....... - the exhaust openings of the 701 cylinder are different- a tad larger. You may however place a 701 exhaust gasket on your 650 manifold, draw the opening with a marker and "dremel" to suit. BTW, there are 3 diff. 701 engines: 94-95 SJ, = 61X engine. Also 94- up raider engine = 62T (62T crankcase with 62T cylinder). The SJ since 96 used a 62T bottom (side draft carbs) with the more desirable for low end 61X cylinder

Thanks for the reply. So will the 701 motor just bolt in place of the 650? and i found a website called shopSBT.com and they sell a 701x motor and a 701s. do you have any recommendations? i thought i found through the research i did that the 701s motor was the one to get. also was thinking of doing a factory B-pipe. any input?

The short answer is yes. You could take that motor on eBay and do a direct swap. You can use your 650 electronics as well. I run 650 electronics on my SN and it runs just fine. The implied task is that you need to jet it correctly for whatever pipe you use.
