1990 Square nose short shaft in the bigger/new style housing?

Will a short shaft from a 90 square fit in the newer/larger midshaft housing?

it should fit but you gotta use the coupler from that 90 as well because they are two different sizes.

yeah the 650 shaft has smaller threads and therefore needs the coupler off of that year shaft.

Yeah I have Pro-tec billet couplers to fit that.

The machine surface on the short-shaft is different between 90-93 and 96-04 - because of how it seats against the large bearings (spacing).

As for using the old shaft in newer housing, I haven't tried it so :noevil:...
