300/440/550 1987 Kawaski 300 SX unmolested - opinions pls

in my world of ongoing jetski-tetris i picked up this really great 300 SX which is basically almost unmolested OEM in great condition....

I am thinking of donating it to the jet ski museeum ( Havasu ) thus so unmolested and clean ( if there is interest )
or should we throw a 900cc ZXI engine in it.... I could change graphics to 300*3 SX loool

what are your thoughts..... ( are there any 300's with more than 750 conversions .?? )

I say make it a project. What I can gather from the 300sx builds is using a 750 or other large pump and re-routing the exhaust out of the pump. I'd like to see a 701 swap with stock looking graphics that say "701sx". hehe.

Another option could be a part out to down on their luck 300 owners. I bought one 2 years ago that looked good like yours, ran ok for a few months, then I found an air leak and a wrecked cylinder. The piston was newer but lookd like someone took a file to it. Apparently a previous owner rebuilt it and didn't address the air leak.

Call them and see if they have one yet. I mean even if you do the big motor then you have to mess with the pump and intake right? And you have two bob gen 3's then this will never been what you want it to be.

clean it up and keep it as is. you can always donate it later if you change your mind, or need a deduction

why chop it up. Later on these will be harder to find mint. lets keep the vintage stock skis, stock...

Got any kids - I was thinking of getting a 300SX for my kids to learn on.

I would use it as a river bomber. rock that thing up and down any and every river I could find. you don't have to worry about rocks, tree stumps, or any thing just bounce off it and keep going.

would be a awesome gift for a kid!
all the builds I have seen end up costing in time and money what a am hull would any way.

You should grab it! I don't want it bad enough to ship really but if that was close I would be on it.
