that is a LONG ride on a ski......

----------------------------------------------------------

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — It's going to be a long, bumpy ride from South Florida to Massachusetts for two brothers.

Joe and Bill Casey plan to make the 1,600-mile journey on a pair of personal watercraft. The purpose of the trip is to raise money for the YMCA in Ipswich, Mass., where where Bill Casey lives.

The brothers are both in their 50s. They took a test run last month between Fort Lauderdale and the Bahamas. They made that 110-mile trip in seven hours.

The Caseys plan to stay in the Intracoastal Waterway for much of their journey. They hope to average about 40 miles an hour and cover at least 150 miles a day on their WaveRunners.

They've followed the same route before, but that was aboard a 48-foot boat.

wonder what type of watercraft they choose.

i suppose for a trip like this reliability at WOT is more important than top speed... i'd do it, seem's like a fun trip. the ppl that are crazy are the ones that bike from WA to FL.

2weeks on a ski, hope it has a nice seat.

I know someone who just biked from Florida to Vermont...with basically no money. He didn't have money for a toll bridge so he literally had to go a whole state out of his way....the guy isn't very smart:icon16:
