Lost a piston. Need some help

I’ll get a picture of the dome next weekend, as the ski is on my dock, but it is just loaded with pieces of metal. What could be done to clean it up?

Lost a piston. Need some help

Looks like my protect head will be shot too since the domes are not removable. I have heard of milling the stock head for a little more compression is that relatively safe to do or am I better off looking for another aftermarket head?

Lost a piston. Need some help

So the crank won’t necessarily be toast, but rather the pin possibly failed?

Lost a piston. Need some help

Thanks for the info, just read that whole thread. Due to the abundance of pieces of metal visible in the cylinder if I were to take on the task myself, when I disassemble I will be looking for pieces of metal down in the crankcase right??? I know previously when I had to rebuild my crank was...

Lost a piston. Need some help

Haha if I decide to build it myself it will be in the back room at the lake or on my bedroom floor in my apartment. Either way not the best place.

Lost a piston. Need some help

I’ll have to post pictures of my Protec head when I go to the lake this weekend. It could potentially be shot too, the dome looks just like the top of the piston with pieces of metal imbedded all over. I imagine that could be sanded out, but only to a certain extent? If I went the SBT route is...

Lost a piston. Need some help

To be honest I have never taken apart, nor rebuilt a ski motor. I am mechanically inclined and have no issues learning via directions and such, but would it be possible to tear down and rebuild on my own considering I have never done it before? I would love to fix the ski without breaking the...

Lost a piston. Need some help

Hey guys I have a 93 B1 that I was out riding this past weekend when all of the sudden I lost power, the ski died, and I could no longer keep it running. Called a friend and he said to go ahead and pull the head. Pulled the plugs first and found that the rear plug must have hit the piston...

I did not fully replace the small filters in the carb, but I did clean them out as they had some sand in them. I will try both of your suggestions tomorrow and see what happens.

Super Jet 2007 Superjet dying at high speed

I have a 2007 Superjet with blowsion air filters and running amsoil 50:1 premix Ski had been running strong all summer until this past week when I took it to the river. Ski starts, idles and runs fine until you reach high speeds. When it got to the top end it fell flat. Talked to a friend who...

    Blaster Head Bolt Issue

I plan on getting some stainless bolts, should I even worry about checking for the anode if I go this route, or what would you guys do?

Is there a way for me to check if it is still there or not without removing anything?

    Blaster Head Bolt Issue

Hey guys I am somewhat new to the site and have a question. I have a 93 B1 that I had the engine rebuilt in about a year ago and after the rebuild my head bolts started to begin rusting. I don't ride in salt water and I always dry the engine off after I use it. We have a 94 WRIII that has all...
