I would guess clockwise. I really depends on which legs on the trim pot were used to connect it. The mod CDIs that I have done always are set to increase as you turn clockwise. I am pretty sure that the Riva & Pro Tec are the same way.

Agreed, impact on the flywheel bolt is asking for trouble. The Cold Fusion tool is worth its weight. One of the best tools I have bought ! I have used it many times and it is well worth every penny I paid for it.
