Actually the 440 ski is the one to have for the conversion to a bigger engine, which he seems to keep mentioning. Sounds like you should get a cheap 440, and a cheap 750sx, and do a engine swap. A 750 440 setup correct is like having a perfect running FX-1

The wave height was about shoulder high...great, but the wave period was about 4 to 6 seconds ...way to close together and rough for my taste, but got smoother (and smaller)as the day went on! Definately can see where even that would intimidate a first time surf rider.

sj vs fx I guess it is all a matter of preferance, but to me the fx-1 seems much more stable than a sj, esp. at full speed. Think twice about the ocean, you will never look at flat water the same again!!
