@stagesrt4 will help you find something. If you want to go cheap and enjoy wrenching pick up a 550 to get started. Otherwise your budget will limit you to a 90-95 Yamaha Superjet or a Kawasaki 650sx.

Cut the stock plate first before you spend any $. You can cut it flush and then d-cut if the flush cut does not give you the desired result

From my experience the X2 does not land very nicely if you get more than a few feet of air. It is narrow and if you flat land it feels like it will break in half. If you land vertical the rear does not seem to have much buoyancy. Fine for messing around on small lakes and jumping boat wakes...
