Funny. I was bone on bone too. The ball was grooved into the socket. My surgeon was shocked too. The other hurt more so I got that one done first.

I had them done about two years apart. I think I waited about 6 months. You want to make sure the hip is attached well and that the bone has grown in and around it. I never discussed it with my surgeon because he wouldn't understand it. I go when I want but I don't ride back to back days...

I have had both hips replaced. 58 still riding. I don't ride surf much like I used to. stay in flat water and you should be fine. I try to take it easy but it is hard. Keep in mind you have a prosthetic inside your body. Better be nice to it.
