The Watercraft Journal is Looking to Hire a Freestyle/Freeride Editor

Mark has helped us out before - he's just too busy to produce the quantity of freestyle/freeride/standup coverage that this sport needs. And the position doesn't require you to travel all over the planet - just to be aware of what events/news are happening and help us report on it.

The Watercraft Journal is Looking to Hire a Freestyle/Freeride Editor

Did you know that you could make upwards to $1,500 a month writing for The Watercraft Journal by putting in an extra hour or two a day worth of work? Seriously, it’s that easy. Because The Watercraft Journal continues its aggressive industry-leading daily (Monday-through-Friday) publishing...

Supercharged? No. But a naturally-aspirated version yes.

    SXR New sxr specs

One small note: the 12F engine has been out of production for 11 years. Kawi ain't bringing that back. Rather, initial rumors were a 15F motor was to be used, but once leaked info began diffusing excitement for the SX-R's return, confirmation of a 1-liter 4-cylinder (presumably H2-based)...

    Personal Watercraft Illustrated

Aaron, you're 100% right in quoting the rebuild article. Here's the problem, our primary evaluation of the damage was wrong. The damage was far worse. If you'll notice, the next thing we tried to do with Copperhead was participate in the 2008 Mark Hahn Memorial. We didn't even complete a...

another one bites the dust... (jet ski magazines)

Yeah, Personal Watercraft Illustrated's forums are rather quiet. But, I've really never known any magazine's forums to be really buzzing (well, RacerX is pretty busy...). Either way, we're ramping up all sorts of new efforts to bring PWI into the digital age in a big way (online editions of the...

    Personal Watercraft Illustrated

Sadly, nothing much is going to happen soon in regards to international subscription prices. Well, almost... I'm cooking up a pretty cool situation that will help keep Personal Watercraft Illustrated at the top of the heap. Much like our big brother publication, Cycle News, we're exploring an...

    Personal Watercraft Illustrated

Yes, Copperhead. There was substantial damage to the engine, as we hydrauliced the engine, that is, the water compressed in the cylinder chambers, which distorted three valves, shifted two valve guides, and played basic hell with the valvetrain. The stalling of the reciprocating assembly also...

another one bites the dust... (jet ski magazines)

You're absolutely right, Adam. I'm frankly stumped, so I'm going to run this up to the publisher, Robert Norvelle, and see what he thinks. I always thought that the surge in pricing between the US and Canada was pretty ludicrous myself. -Kevin

another one bites the dust... (jet ski magazines)

Adam, You're very right. I believe Canada is $40 or $45 for a year's sub and international is $65. But, I did find something rather interesting. When you get the chance, look at the per issue price on the cover. The US and Canadian prices are the same. That would make you ask questions, right...

another one bites the dust... (jet ski magazines)

Personal Watercraft Illustrated isn't going anywhere. In fact, in addition to our seasonal seven issues a year, we're going to try out special subscriber-only online-only editions during the seasonal off-months! Pretty exciting stuff. There's more info to come. Stay tuned! Personal Watercraft...

    Someone please help me understand!!!

Sorry to disappoint, but editor@watercraft.com is my only email address. They asked me when I was hired over two years ago if I wanted "kevin@watercraft.com" and I declined, not wanting to check two different accounts. But, if more is what you want, here's the rest: Kevin S. Shaw Editor...

    Someone please help me understand!!!

I'm going to try to tackle these points one at a time: Actually, no. I was pretty much fishing for input from people like you guys who've been bent over in the past. That, and hopefully trying to resolve some lingering problems with subscription satisfaction. Such as these... You're right...

    photo contest

That's my mistake. You're right. Either way, it was this photo (and my recent trip to the Daytona Freeride) that inspired this whole contest. Thanks go out to Taylor, Ross, Pete at Wamilton's, Josh Lustic, and Ronny Mac for harassing me into making this a reality!

    photo contest

Technically, yes. The contest category is defined by The Deepest Barrel, deepest, not biggest. Just so you guys know, Taylor wasn't standing up in the cover, he was one knee down. But the image was super sharp, amazingly colorful, and just plain awesome. There's not much arguing that it was just...
