I know what you mean about hand guards changing how the bars can flex. Its always been a bit of a trade off between having the bark busters solidly mounted, or letting them move with the bars a bit, but spin around when you dump it. Jesse designed these for easton a few years back...

None at the moment, but we are going to start making some composite body parts for the bikes, so I could see all that stuff transferring over easily enough... I need to get a ski first!

If you go tubeless, I have had great luck with the ghetto method (20'' bmx tube) and liquid latex.

Might be sucking in dirt too, airboot, or air filter seal not seated properly. I would not get rid of that bike for a 2s honda, the yami's are better in my opinion.

Air leak somewhere? crank seals? Sucking in coolant, causing loss in lubrication? You should post this on Thumpertalk, or a moto website, you will get more help.
