EDIT: hood seal advice (stiffest seal)

Thanks, trying to avoid OEM since it will do the same thing, and if used who knows how much corrosion maybe behind the ring already.

    1990 Superjet Rideplate Bolts

6 of them. 6x1.00 30mm long. They have a captured washer with a lock washer. Just pulled my pump out today....

EDIT: hood seal advice (stiffest seal)

I've been out of the standup game for a while, but used to be HEAVILY involved. HOOD SEAL: back in the day firmer seals to prevent compression and loosening of the hood latch were the thing. I put a HydroTruf seal on (I recalled they were a stiffer one???) but my latch comes loose with hood...

Super Jet Jetting 650/701 (6m6 with 701 cylinder and B pipe)

I'm not ported, but that should help. I guess the carb is the same (44mm) for the 650 and the single carb 701 and the Factory pipe recs for single carb 701 will be close, but wasn't sure how much the case/reed difference would matter.

Super Jet Jetting 650/701 (6m6 with 701 cylinder and B pipe)

Been searching for a while and can't find an answer. 6m6 case with stock 650 carb (SBN44?). Putting on a 701 cylinder, stock head, Factory B pipe. Case comes back from machinist tomorrow and want to assmeble and ride this weekend. What jetting specs are people using for the 650/701 motors?

6M6 case with stock carb, upgrading to a 701 cylinder. What jets are people using? Searched this thread for "6m6" but didn't find anything. Not even sure what size carb the stock one was... I know the 701 single carbs used 44's. Will have Factory B-pipe.

    Nose Stabs

Haven't read all the posts, so may have been fully explained, but: http://i942.photobucket.com/albums/ad262/gusandson/WaterCraft%20World%20Tricks%20Old%20School/180nosestab1.jpg http://i942.photobucket.com/albums/ad262/gusandson/WaterCraft%20World%20Tricks%20Old%20School/180nosestab2.jpg

    I need some help/guidance doing 180's

Go moderate speed. One foot in front, one in back let off gas. Put all weight on front foot, lean up against bars and turn bars hard to the left. Full throttle Keep body CENTERED in line of travel (ie do NOT lean you body to the left or you will fall off/tip ski over left). You want the...

    OLD SCHOOL: Compilation of tricks

Had this posted on PWCToday a while back. Thought I had them on here but can't find them. These are some of the original tricks, and can mostly be done with stock skis. Good for learing the basics, and still fun. I LIKE HOOD TRICKS AND AM NOT ASHAMED TO ADMIT IT!!! If you have basic...

    Freestyle SN SJ mods

Porting will add the most power. Boring is good also. Both would be ideal. Before buying a new hull I would put handholds in your hood if doing flatwater, plus bilge pump/scupper. That will make it more fun while saving for an aftermarket hull (you can do a lot with stock hulls). I prefer...

    School me on ride plates.

Yeah, both were at Lanier when it still had water.... Is that still a problem up there? Gus' original paint job, circa 1996. Good times, good times. Back when I'd go up to Hugenot by myself and be the only standup out there

    Freestyle Bars

Take a pencil or ruler or something straight and hold it in each hand like you would a handlebar (so that the long end of the objects come out toward the middle of your body. With elbows at your side, look down and see the angle they make. They will both be angles away from your body. This is...

Super Jet Trim system setup questions (and how to use them)

Do have a return spring, but with the force of water through the nozzle I can't imagine taking it off would help much. Deftons, I can get good height without the trim. With the trim I just seem to flop over backwards.

    School me on ride plates.

Couchhater really got it. Gus was my original ski, and I still have him :arms: (so it is "my ski" still) Keep it around for friends to ride, and I like to do some old school hood tricks on it as Son of Gus' power is a bit much for certain tricks....... I'm trolling around the aftermarket hull...

    School me on ride plates.

Thanks guys. I guess I was hoping it was my ride plate keeping me from backfliping rather than my lack of balls :-o I just have to nut-up and hit some waves :-) Haven't been into skiing as much over the last couple years as I got heavy into dirtbiking, but I plan to do a lot of skiing this...
