Haha the excitement is still here i just ran out of epoxy then started working about 70 hours a week then a heat wave. It's been tough to find anytime lately to get any work done. But work seems to be slowing and it's cooling off so I should be hitting it full bore again soon.
I don't think I wanna do tubes for this. I think a low pro pole would look slick on this.
Anyways I ran out of resin so I decided to attempt my tubbies again and I finished them. All I used was a sharpie, razor blade, hack saw, speed square and a sander. Oh cardboard and deck screws as well.
Yep just took a sawzall and ran it on top of the bond line. Then took a speed square and measured 2in all the way around then went at it again with the sawzall. I'm sure there's a better more precise way but I was drinking and poop happens.
I agree the bottom deck is getting a little heavy if...
Well I wasn't planning on working on anything tonight but I saw some activity on the build so figured I had to keep you guys happy with some updates!!! I've been working a bunch so haven't had time to do anything lately.
So I found out two things with the work I've done today. 1st is that...
Went out and got some margaritas last night then came home and had to change some things. The squared end just didn't work so here's what it looks like now.
I think it just flows better.
Sweet thanks @txsuperjetfreak96
I forgot to tell you guys Words of wisdom that I can actually give.
Your neighbors will think you are weird when you have just your top deck sitting in the driveway with you standing like your on the ski and have a tape measure as your pole trying to figure out...
Thanks everyone for being so helpful and thanks for all you guys who think this is a cool idea to do to a 650. I'm enjoying it and in glad y'all are too.
Pole areas on hold until I get some measurements. probably one of the last things I do after I get the top and bottom bonded again. Anyways...
Thanks i just did my bond line and while that's setting up im gonna play around with my pole bracket area i just don't want to get all done then be to small.
Do you use aluminum just for weight savings compared to the rubber hose?
Anyone have measurements of pole brackets. I'm gonna run an xscream pole and probably there bracket.
But the fancy cutter looks fun to build. Sportfish you can explain on the page maybe it will give other people idea on how to do it.
Nate I'm not sure what I'm doing with my bond line. Basically just widening it like @swapmeet suggested. Hell I'm not sure if anything I am doing is gonna work...
