the rust wasnt that bad, just little stuff here and there. Which way is advance, to the left or right? this was off to the left.

Impact gun works great, poped right off. Stator was off the mark by a millameter, would that make a difference? It was off coulnterclockwise. And the fly wheel has some rust on it, does that matter and would that be the cause?

Well, i pulled the reeds, they looked great. they were the metal ones so i changed them for some carbon ones I has on the shelf. I tried to get the flywheel off and it was ot going. It even damaged my puller. I put that flywheel on and I know I put the key in, chould that be a clue the key is...

I put the stock CDI in, but Im not sure if it was good or not. It was out of a stock 650 that was set aside because it didnt run, but I dont know why it didnt run. I know one of the wires is a male and the other if a female, that way it is harder to connect them wrong. Without a wire diagram in front of me I dont know what the 2 wires do to see if it would cause a timing issue.

it does backfire when I let off the starter button. Does anyone know if MSD has any kind of warranty, it isnt a new unit, but maybe they would honor something.

The red wiring part kinda confused me a little. I hav a used MSD and it only has one red wire coming from it. I cant figure out how to splice it into the red wire in the box. I was hoping to look at the pict on the other thread, but they dont come up anymore. Any help on this one.
