    I bet the woodruff key sheared. When you install the stator it needs to be a really good seating. The key is only for alignment, not to stop rotation. The seat is made by spinning the stator on the shaft. Apply pressure and maybe use polishing compound too. Install with 115 ft lbs, or less...
