So I just got my 650sx going. What are the most common weak spots, and where should I do reinforcement? I plan on taking it out in the ocean some and getting as much air as I can.

Fixed it today, it turns out the exhaust gasket was tore, it was leaking water down into the cylinder. Fixed that and rode it all day, 6hrs on and off with no problems.

I have my cooling lines ran right, except the one that goes into the bottom of the intake manifold. I know it is supposed to run from the pump, however, my pump has 2 fittings on it, how do I know which one is going to push the water up? Does it matter which one it goes on? Rear exit exhaust 650sx

Well I just re used my old one and put some sealer around it. When I found out that it actually is not supposed to be filled with oil, I was cool w/ re using the old one. This is my first ski and my motor that came in it had that compartment that the flywheel/stator is in full up with oil!!!

I still cant find this gasket anywhere, someone please help... it is a big o ring for the whole side cover

Yea, I am a PWC noob. Is this 89 650sx fiberglass or abs? Is there any safe paint stripper I can use to remove the spray paint someone painted it with?

What are the chances of that high compression head I have having something wrong with it? I dont want to put it on my new motor when it gets here and have it hit something... (if it is shaved down to much would the pistons hit?) I think its a mariner, anyone wanna buy it? Make an offer!

The new motor I bought has a stock head, I'll just keep it stock, should be plenty quick enough.

I just bought a 30hr 650 motor w/ 155/159 :) Ready to go! However, the reason I say the piston hit the head is because it had a circle faint circle imprint on the top of the piston that matched the aftermarket head perfectly? I didn't see any major damage that indicated something going through...
