    Other Xlt1200 keeps melting pistons

With aftermarket flame arrestors it’s assumed the cat is removed too right?

    Other Xlt1200 keeps melting pistons

The ski is bone stock. Has choke flaps still, has the cat, has stock airbox. For this repair though I plan to remove the cat and do a d plate, reinstall the oil pump, and do some after market flame arrestors. Maybe a 122.5 main and 110 pilot?

    Other Xlt1200 keeps melting pistons

Anyone know what stock jetting should be? I’m wondering if the replacement carbs I got had the wrong jets. The original carbs were corroded so badly that I couldn’t get access to the jets to check stock

    Other Xlt1200 keeps melting pistons

Working on a ski for my friend, it’s a 2003 Yamaha xlt1200 2 stroke. He bought it used and had a ton of corrosion in the crankscase and carbs. Got a new rack of carbs and wound up doing an sbt crank, pistons, and cylinders. We did an oil pump delete and ran 32:1 premix. Got it in the water and...

Changed pump shoe now pump will not align with bolt holes

Yea I noticed that when I put the shoe in it didn't exactly sit flush it kinda teetered top to bottom but I put the silicone in and tightened the screws until it felt flush and even. So what I should have done was let the top sit flush and the bottom sit off the hull slightly then fill in the...

Changed pump shoe now pump will not align with bolt holes

What's the solution then? Even if I mocked it up and discovered it wouldn't fit would you grind it before mounting or get a different one?

Changed pump shoe now pump will not align with bolt holes

I didn't mock up the pump I just mocked up the shoe to make sure it fit nice. I didn't think I would have to mock up the pump

Changed pump shoe now pump will not align with bolt holes

I tried a big ratchet strap with some wood and tightened the hell out of it but still no good. I'll call blowsion and see if they've come across this issue before

Changed pump shoe now pump will not align with bolt holes

Yea I was stuck between blowsion and jet dynamics but heard the non drilled blowsion was a more snug fit with less modifications required. With me pushing on it as hard as possible I still need about 1/8 of an inch to get the pins aligned and the bolt in. It's really close but still too far. Is...

Changed pump shoe now pump will not align with bolt holes

I just replaced my pump shoe on my rn sj with a brand new blowsion shoe. I got it siliconed and screwed in nice and flush with the hull. I went to install the pump with a new seal but couldn't get the bolt holes lined up. I thought it may have been because of the new seal so I tried the old one...

    Broken Venturi Nozzle Fins

Yea prop definitely looks fine then. Everything else seems to be in order. Got a new pump deal and will reassemble tomorrow. Thanks for the inputs.

    Broken Venturi Nozzle Fins

I'm not sure how long it's been like that, I just removed my pump to replace the pump shoe and noticed it. How can you tell if you're blowing the impeller out from looking at the leading edge? Pitting or burn marks?

    Broken Venturi Nozzle Fins

Just noticed that I have a few broken fins off my venture nozzle. Is there any real negative impact to running it like this? I'm experiencing some cavitation but can't imagine that the broken fins would create this. Any insight is appreciated.

Super Jet Cavitation under heavy throttle

I've been experiencing what feels like cavitation under heavy throttle. I pulled the grate off today to check things out. I noticed a decent gap between the wedge and the pump housing is this an issue that could cause the cavitation? I got some pics for reference.

    Broken tabs on metal nozzle

I have my pump apart to swap impellers and I noticed there's 3 broken tabs on the metal portion of the nozzle right after the jet veins. It's not on the plastic steerable nozzle but on the metal portion right before it. Are these tabs important for good flow or menial. Wondering if I should...
