this is exactly what i did... took a lot of sanding because there were some pretty high spots from metal deposited from the old bearings. but eventually i got the high spots low enough that i could slip the old race back on with very light tapping. saved me a good amount of money thank you!
Hey everyone,
My wife and I are moving and we have to get rid of our 550's
the trailer we have used with them had what I would call a catastrophic failure of the wheel bearings on one side. I pulled the hub and found a replacement hub and bearing kit.
however I'm nervous to remount everything...
Ok dude. I've dreamed of seeing a ski like this since my first 550 I got in 2000 in high school. Every single time... Never gets finished.
I subscribed, AND I'm sending you a PM, please please please DO NOT sell the hull.
I'm begging you man, finish this ski. Every vintage rider is looking at...
well ok, i guess that was a stupid question i know i have to buy it out of state but the real question is how do i register it here.
ive heard a couple different things, one being to register it once, then re-register it as used...anybody know?
any help would be awesome!
thanks
Chris...
alright, that convinces me, im gonna do it, just to do it. i think it would be way fun to have a 550 out in the surf and have everyone be lookin at me crazy.
thanks for the inspiration!
