Most of the paint flaked off my 1999 RN hood. I and chipping the rest of with a razor blade. The SMC surface underneath is really smooth, like not prepped at all. So what is the best way to prep a stock RN hood for paint? Just sand it (what grit?)? Or is there a chemical prep that needs to be...
Last week was snowy. Christin let me drag the Rickter into the kitchen to install the freshly rebuilt (thanks Brian Vergin) DASA motor.
I got a new set of ported and trenched cases from Thrust.
Fresh 90mm pistons from Wiseco, modified by DASA.
The displacement is now 967cc.

Is there a rule of thumb for X amount of turns out on the high (or low) speed screw = 1 jet size?
And (possibly dumb question here) but how much is one jet size? 120-125, or 120-130, or 120-122.5?

If you open a picture at the bottom of the page the picture shows up at the top. You have to scroll up to see it, but the scroll makes the picture disappear. I have to click Open in new window to see attachments.

Travis aka tumblingtwerp9 sent me a PM earlier this week that he bought a 1991 hull from Eli Hurst. I haven't gotten the whole story but apparently Eli told Travis to get the title from me. Apparently Eli claims I delivered it to Daytona.
I have never been to Daytona. I don't know Eli and I...
I'm new to Kawasakis. I bought a 750SX in pieces. It was almost sight unseen. I was happy when I showed up and it was a dual carb model. I thought SXi. Then when I was assembling it I realized it had Mikuni carbs. A few other things added up and I confirmed it's actually a 98 SXi PRO...
I've got an old ABLE billet cylinder on Christin's ski. It's a 82mm bore and a 73mm stroke. It runs good, but I'm sure it could be better (or bigger?). So who deals with these antiques? The motor is dated 1994 BTW. Tim Judge? Team Scream? Jet Works?
Thanks,
Aaron
This thread got me thinking: http://www.x-h2o.com/threads/81005-Favorite-Jetski-scene-in-a-movie/page2
There are movies with jet skis and there are documentaries/freestyle DVD's out there but no actual movies centered around jet skis (especially free style). So I've been working on my jet ski...
Does anyone ride here? I am down here with the family this week. I didn't bring skis, but I would like to. I have seen spots to launch on the bay but nothin on the ocean side. The city said I could not launch inside the city limits. But I think beach access #3 is north ofthe City limits. I...
Is this site set up for normal boolean search parameters like the following?:
To search for expressions which include spaces, use the hash/pound symbol (do not use quotes)
eg. le#pen will return matches for both Le Pen and LePen
Boolean operators also work. Words are AND'ed together by...
Just my random thread.
My Rickter is running great again. What was once a barely get a tank of gas through it before problems show up ski is now a reliable thirsty boat. Last year problems of cracking R&D chambers weren't possible in the Rickter because the pipe would not physically fit. I...
Long story short, I bought a new part from Brian at Thrust Innovations about two months ago. The manufacturer (not Thrust) is known for saying "Sorry, it's a competition part. No warranty." Well just my usual luck it broke almost immediately. I sent it back to Thrust and he fixed it for FREE. It...

Post 10. I attached a lame drawing to help this guy route his water and it is not showing up. I went to edit my post to see if I messed up and it showed the attachment was there.

I lost another starter front bearing to rust. Not sure how water even got in there. The seal is on the back side of that bearing so it seems like a crappy design to me.
Does anyone know where to get a new front needle bearing and seal?
