Mounting pole pad to AM poles are you guys just using dap and gluing them on? Or is there more to it?

I'm looking to upgrade my life vest, currently I have a jet pilot side entry and it rides up quite a bit. Does the nitro do that at all? Also what type of material is it made of? The jet pilot one also chafes my nipps more than I care for. Haha so any input would be awesome!
