I've read some people doing it, but really have seen any feedback. I know when you have worn threads - you can use heli-coils and timeserts. I've used both and had luck with timeserts (or keyserts). Heli-coil had trouble with alot of torque (maybe not installed perfectly - but good with low...
i have a set of oem 82mm pistons that needs new rings with a hone on cylinder.
I can't feel any scratches around these pistons. Just want to get some advice/options before i make my final decision.
What the max clearance on OEM pistons?
Keep or bore up?
thanks!
I can not figure out my low compression issue. I have a ported cycl. and running a ADA head with 33cc domes. My front cycl. is getting 190 psi and my rear 140 psi. The cycl. sleeves are in good shape. nothing there that would concern me.
I switch my domes around thinking it was a bad...
I have a cycl. that was bored out to 82mm using Pro-x pistons. Could I switch to a 82mm wisco pistons? Would the clearance be totally different or pretty close?
Whats the best way to measure clearance?
Thanks for any help!
If you take rings off a piston after use (few hours), do they need to replaced with new. Or can you put them back on? Didn't know, if you take them of, they would stretch a little and would not seat back correctly.
thanks!
Where can I get the steering nozzle connector that connects from the steering cable to the nozzle. The clip the goes over the nipple on the nozzle, that screws onto the steering cable. (not the nipple on the nozzle) The sliding clip that the nipple insert into.

I've got my engine out right now and prior to pulling the motor - it it took me longer to do a compression test then it has ever. Seems to be rotating slower then normal when hitting the start button.

Many of you have prob. read my rebuilt problems concerning bad compression. Well i examine the o-rings tonight throughly and found that by replacing them solved my problem. I know I should of done that weeks ago, but I learned.

I have a gridle kit for my ADA head and can't seem to figure out the benfits of using the kit. If you put the kit on, do you need to replace the base gasket on the between the cycl and case?
what is the benefit?
thanks
i got my new engine installed this weekend and ran it on the hose for a few minutes. Everything sounds great. After running it on the hose i am receiving some variance in compression numbers. The front cycl i am hitting right at 173psi and the rear 190 psi. the motor is...

Just put the engine together and did a compression test. I am getting 200psi on my ported motor with 33cc domes. Once i break in the engine. will the compression drop in the range of 185-190. I am wanting to run 93 octane on this motor. The engine builder recommended the 33cc for the port...
My winter build is almost done, and might put the ski in this weekend. I have some knowledge on tuning the ski, but have no idea where to start out. I updated the engine this past winter.......

I am in the process of rebuilding my engine, and took a look at the crank. Now, all the bearings spin pretty good (nice and smooth & a lot of rotations). I have one bearing on the middle side that is smooth spinning, but doesn't like to spin as much as the others.
What could this be a...
i am in the process of rebuilding my motor, and i notice on the crank rods they say 62t and on the crank bearings they say "6m6". What does the 6m6 mean? i am running a 62t case and 61x cycl platform. I guessing this would be a stock crank?
thanks
this may be a newbie question - but i am trying to understand the pros and cons on deleting the rev limiter. Whats the benefit in taking a stock cdi and eliminating the rev limiter?
thanks
I went to take my impeller off today. This was one of the hardest impellers ive ever taken off. Took umm an HOUR. The last attempt i got it! I applied torch to it for 8 minutes, and took additional 10 minutes before it ever budged.
