cant you just run a wire from the positive terminal on the battery to the positive bolt on the starter? You should be able to snake your arm in there without removing the exhaust.

I put an xmw pole on my square and used the xmw roundnose bracket and it works awesome. I love the setup. Like other people said, the pole doesnt extend up as far as it should but it doesnt effect riding at all.
