When I do footholds, I like to remove all the foam in the gunwhales and then re-foam it when complete. Adds more strength to the holds. And they can bend some when putting the screws or rivets in. Seems like your still hitting something preventing it from going all the way in up top. If not just...

actually what I really need to know is the sizes of the nuts. Mine are MIA and there is an industrial supply shop here that I can get them from, I just need to know what to ask for lol.

Does anyone know the size of the nuts on the xmetal pole. I know its a 3/4 inch nut but whats the thread size?
