Agreed on all points. I will also add that maintenance is a real issue that gets over looked. whille you can go cheap on somethings ( run Rotella T in the trans and ATF in the forks ) other things you really need to spend the extra mony for the good stuff. ( break pads, bearings, gaskets...

I think the guy is probably saying " hey, I spent all day out trail riding with my buds, and I only rode it like 20 or so times... so 200hrs sounds right" this attitude is what leads me to believe it's NEVER had anything done to it.

all I'm saying is that on an 8 yr old bike that has "low hours" odds are the guy rides it, washes it and forgets about it. he probably doesnt grease his swing arm, steering or anything else regularly as that would require tearing things apart. seals dry rot. 8 yr old grease is bad grease. and...

if you buy it, just know you will be required to possibly drop up to another grand into it. Between a new top end, and a compleate tear down to regrease and/or replace bearings and seals and other consumables. just because it was not ridden alot in 8 yrs doesnt mean that it's been properly...
