You could be fine with the waterbox (I just dont know), may have to buy some exhaust hose that tapers or something if the end of the stinger is different than inlet for waterbox. For expanding the pipe, I used an old trashed stock 650SX pipe and cut the end off where the hose clamp normally...

Actually extended the 650sx expansion chamber by 2.5inches and it made a good difference in low end kick

I used a Factory B Pipe Exhaust Manifold, with a 650SX cheater head pipe/expansion pipe and Coffman Outlet. See my profile picture. It worked amazing. I mated that with a Seadoo XP waterbox. Had to convert to internal fill, but that didnt matter to me.

Thanks @brapperdoodle - however I already have the 16.l 16V swap! Going to clean this one up and reuse! We should try and get the Samurais together in the future if I can ever get this one finished!

Well it has been quite awhile since I have updated this. Between work and kids, this project has stretched longer and longer. Had the transmission and t-case rebuilt. Went for some upgraded TCase gears (4.9 to 1). Finally making some progress on the body, its primer ready up. Lizard Skin inside...

Rebuilt steering knuckles, wheel bearings, brake calipers, pads, rotors. New YJ leaf springs all around. She is back rolling on all four wheels! Frame is repainted with rust-stop rattle can. Slowly but surely moving forwards!

So a bit of an update - decided the more and more I looked at it - the body was completely roached. Put my kids in the back and their feet would fall through. The prior owner did a really good job of hiding all the rust with heavy duty bedliner that made it strong enough for the sale, but not...
