I cut the rivets out yesterday, used enlarged screws to tighten the neck back to the box and epoxied the piss out of it but I'd like to find a backup for sure. Let me know what you're willing to let yours go for and maybe we can make a deal.
Just rebuilt the carb on my 90’ SN and was running it on the hose and saw that the inlet of the waterbox is puking water. It looks like the rivets are loose and whatever joins the inlet pipe and box together is coming apart. Do I just epoxy the sh*t out of it or is there another (not $250) option?
You aren't crazy. I did circle the wiring. I realized that wasn't the water line when I went home and looked at the engine. I left it alone obviously. The water line has corrugated plastic over it and can't really be seen in the photo I circled.
I just stole this photo off another build thread so this isn't my engine but I think it is close enough. Is the red circled line the one I should T my pisser off of?
Hey guys. I just picked up a 90' SJ650 and it's a bit of a mess in the hull. Looking everything over I found what appears to be a vacuum line that comes from the upper exhaust (the one that is stamped YAMAHA) and was just left free on the other end. All of the photos I have seen show that line...
So if it happens and I pull a plug and no spark, where is my go to? I have a known good carb on it currently and the black electrical box towards the rear is properly sealed.
