I think you are a bit mixed up. When you do a barrel roll you dont plant your poll down on the hood. And the 15 lbs of a pole is not going to vastly effect the center of gravity on a 300 lbs ski when you talkin about moving it only a few inches. Vertically speaking at least.

Either way bracket hieght does not matter as it ultimately boils down to the height off the CG centerline at which the handlebars are torqued. The point at which there is a pivot does not matter.
