Well it is Neoprene, and I would say it's coarse Neoprene at that. But the arm holes are large, and the fit is snug, it doesn't move around on my torso, not even in the water. There are some Neo vests out now with slick surfaces on the upper chest that might be a better choice if that's an issue.

Happy to help, you will like it think, the vest may not be the prettiest girl at the dance graphics wise, but defiantly has the best body :} Seriously though when it's brand new if will feel a little stiff, but after a few drenchings and some time in a trailer storage box it will soften up...

I don't think the Black ones were on sale, anyway I have a Helium Swat, very nice vest if you like side entry vests. Very well suited to stand up riding, so-so for runabouts, it will ride up a little if your sitting. I have no complaints about my SWAT vest. It is thicker than a non approved wake...
