#1 reason fuel economy where we ride
#2 experiment and curiosity
#3 I had 44’s on the ski and it hit harder and pulled over 100+ rpm More. Fuel economy was significantly worse when riding “aggressive”
#4. When I was racing I always rode with 48’s on my limiteds and 50’s on my supers. Now that...
Woke up and decided to watch mxgp and cc some more oem superjet heads. One head off a 2017’ silver and other head off a 1996 gray I think. 31mm thick so no decking. Sanded with 800grit to clean and ensure seal with thin baby oil. Oem spark plugs and yes they filled the cavity. I used...
Oh another note. Much more sensitive to needle turns than Yamaha Superjet oem 38’s. The Yamaha superjet oem 38’s are hard to screw up as 70/130 jetting works on about 95% of every combination imaginable.
Update. I put these 38’s finally on my sj. They had drilled out return restrictor so I had to run a jet. Ended up at 85. Smooth idle
I only had 70/130 jets on my and I will say they were rich compared to Oem 70/130. I think 65 or 67.5 and 125-127.5 will be perfect
I pulled 50-60 more rpm...
The msd plates are not 180. I complained years ago about this. it was a way to retard the rear cylinder. Assuming you use the retarded pickup for rear. Most plates I’ve used were made 98-05 time period. ALL had one about 3 degrees off
Most I’ve ever worked on or had used Kawasaki flat tops. 76mm stroke rad crank with 132 rad rods or KTM 132 rods
(many were that exact dimension or close)
Probably was a 6 or 8mm with 132 ktm or rad rods and a .125 or .060” baseplate if it had round tops. If it had flats could of been 8mm with 132 ktm/rad rods or Kawasaki rods (Suzuki tiger shark). either way it was more than likely for a 6mm or 8mm probably
Since with 8mm it comes out timing...
Worx 228 is best all around and will give good top speed. 201 will scrub up to 2mph off on glass. But if riding rough water, surf or max bite/stuff 201 works well. If you asking because you can get an old 201 cheap then do it. You can also cut an old 201 to be like a 205/228.
Check eBay on cases. Many mint ones lately in 125-150 range
there is a set right now for exactly $125 shipped (actually many to choose from). No cracks
SRE. Scott Randle Engineering. Spelling Maybe wrong. I think he made heads too? Maybe under East Coast Performance Products. Like WPP but EPP I tried these 20+ years ago
I recently did a standard modified b pipe ,reeds, head, ignition mod superjet for a buddy with oem760 44’s (drilled out and passage filled) and we ended up at 85 and it was a world better than oem.
Pm me your address and I’ll put these in the mail. Not unless your in Oakland county and want to pickup
I would just recommend sanding with 400+ on a flat surface. To clean up
