    Old xScream adjustable pole

Interesting, so when you take off in deep water the pole stays up in the air?

    Old xScream adjustable pole

Do these use a spring? My basket case wdk came with a spring but I don't believe these use a spring? It has two pinch bolts on the side, nothing that goes straight through. Any ideas? I've never run a pole without a spring before.

    Mild WDK ROK Build

Not really anything interesting to share. Engine in, tank in, capped off my unused thru hull lines for now. Found out pretty quickly you should not fit the pipe before the motor. Motor in, need to mount my e box, fit my b pipe, mount a battery and plumb the cooling in. Then I should be...

    800 sxr js550 swap?

I absolutely loved riding my 440, I just wanted it to be faster. But I really did love how hard they made you work.

    Paint how to thread

This thread is making me reconsider my plan to gel coat my entire hull. If I want just a gloss white, is there a good reason NOT to gel coat my hull? I want a hard wearing finish I won't have to retouch in a few years.

    Mild WDK ROK Build

Jury's out on paint vs gelcoat. The ski is down to fibreglass in some place, I was gonna gel the bottom then just thought I might as well gel the top too since I'm only going for a plain white and the ski is all glass. I don't want to see it crack though, so there's also that.

    Mild WDK ROK Build

So, I picked up a rough WDK ROK hull last week and started to put it together. She needs paint bad but I want to hit the water first to see what I think and then paint it over the winter. I still have my superjet to ride so she might hit the water for a few weeks, feel out what I like about the...

    800 sxr js550 swap?

No hate and I don't want to be that guy, but the pump and the hull will always be lacking. I did a 750 swap 550, and quickly realised that the pump was heavily restrictive, combined with a 650 pipe that wouldn't let it breathe. I could get a prop for $200, or do a pump swap for somehwere in...

    800 sxr js550 swap?

I don't see why not. Afaik SXR800 and 750SX are very similar motors. BUT - Unless you want to fork over $2-300 for the right prop the pump will be seriously underpowered. And even when you do, it's still lacking.

Aftermarket Superjet hulls - how are they to live with?

Yep, not sure how. I'm gonna register it as a home built boat. I mean, I'm pretty sure it was.

Think that's the plan. Now I need a VIN.

Aftermarket Superjet hulls - how are they to live with?

True, originally I was gonna slap my SJ running gear in it but now I have a whole new set... no need

Aftermarket Superjet hulls - how are they to live with?

Also - since this hull is all fibreglass, is there a reason I shouldn't just gel coat the entire thing? I'm planning to take it down to a bare hull, sand off all the flaking paint, get down to gel coat and gel coat the entire thing white, top to bottom. Friend of mine works in the marine...

Aftermarket Superjet hulls - how are they to live with?

If you see the photo I posted and compare it to that video, my pole is mounted all the way forward. I'm thinking I might put it in a casual position at full extension, and then I can shorten it by up to 5" using the adjustable knuckle. An RRP pole would be cool. I don't know if there's any...

Aftermarket Superjet hulls - how are they to live with?

For sure, you can never know until you do it yourself. That's the reason I "wasted" so much time (according to others) messing with 440s, 550s, and 750 swap JS hulls. I got all my money back, learnt a lot and had a bunch of new experiences, plus that $500 basket case 440 was what got me into...

Aftermarket Superjet hulls - how are they to live with?

That it has, I believe it was owned by the son of Jeff @ WDK, then a guy in wisconsin, then finally the guy I got it from and now me.

Aftermarket Superjet hulls - how are they to live with?

Got it all unpacked last night. Think I'm just gonna take the whole ski down to gelcoat and re-gel it. All the paint is chipping off and I want a hard wearing white. It is the below pole. X scream steering knuckle too. Fully adjustable...
