You'ed be amazed how quick after they get them out of the water they can have them ready to go again, 99% of these sled are just set up to race on the water.

Yes there's a rope with a small float on it and they release it when they sink. Here's a pic of a 800 mod, between the tach. and where the windshield would be you can see this rope and float and it is used to pull them out of the water.
