I'm currently building a X2 with 800 SXR motor. I have a few questions for the guys who have done one.
1. Jetski Solutions is making me a new power cable set (battery, starter & ground).
How long do they need to be to mount to the gas tank? Do the stock SXR lengths work?
2. When fitting a...
Curious what you guys with THs are using for beach carts to load with. I have a home built steel one and its a PITA to load my superjet and sxr in my TH.
Thanks in advance,
Ed
Yeah the video I don't think lets you see how bad it is, since the frame rate of my camera is so slow. The motor buzzzzzzzez when you rev it up. I had a friend who has a couple 701s look at it and he thinks its vibrating too much. We swapped out essentially every part and still have the...
I tried pulling the exhaust chamber and starting it to eliminate the pipe causing the issue and I still had the vibration.
I tried a friends known good electronics (stator, cdi,).
Anyone have any ideas of causes?
Is this much vibration normal? I've read that dry pipes shake, but this seems like a lot.
The video is a pretty good representation of how much it shakes it's not exagerating it at all.
I pulled the mid shaft and ran the motor with no mid shaft connected to make sure it wasn't my alignment and...
I'll try to get it resolved but if I keep the motor what am I looking at to get it running?
Have the crank rebuilt and run the top end? Pistons and rings are new and cylinder is honed.
Is the cylinder OK to run like this.
Any increased chance of it failing because of the chip? Its low...
I bought a 61X motor off ebay to replace my 650 6M6 motor in my 90 SN. The motor was listed as remanufactured. It has new pistons (.5 over), rings, resurfaced head. They reused the crank saying it was inspected and found in spec...
Yeah thats what I was afraid of. I bought it off a guy when I was buying something else from him. I should have done more homework before buying it.
Matt E thanks for the input.
I have a SN with a 650 6M6 cylinder bored over to 80mm (701) with moderate porting and a 61X head. I got a skat trak 12/20 prop off a local guy.
Is this prop too big for flatwater freestyle? Will it not have any bottom end? I see a lot of guys running the hooker 9/15.
Thanks,
Ed
I searched and searched but found nothing. Where do they sell the aluminum front bumpers? My rubber one is jacked up and I can't bare to put it on my ski with it's nice fresh paint.
Thanks,
Ed
Yeah it's working right now, I just thought I remembered reading somewhere that the 62T put out more voltage and on a 650 it would take more revolutions to put out spark. Can't find the thread. Anyone run this setup for any length of time?
Sorry I should've clarified my question about the FA. I have the stock FA on right now but I have an aftermarket one on my X2 that I'm going to swap later. I wanted to get it running correctly in stock form 1st.
The ski is a 1990 650 with a 6M6 motor.
I took off my front cover to take a look at the stator to see if there was water in there causing my irradic spark issue and I found a couple weird things. 1st there was some water and lots of corrosion and rust. I cleaned it up.
I started looking...
Thanks for looking that up, that's what I found also but wasn't sure if it was right because the microfiche I saw said 120 & 15. Figured it meant 115.
So do most people run the stock jetting on stock skis or is there a better setup? The only aftermarket thing I have is a flame arrestor.
Thanks
OK thanks, I'll try a carb rebuild. It does fire up easy the next day with no choke or primer.
I took it apart and checked the jets and it has 120 low and 115 high. Should I change the high jet to have a larger one than the low?
My 650 X2 has a 44sbn with 120 L & 150 H. 115 H seems small...
