The Blue Devil 550. This conversion project began about 3 years ago. And, it started out with the most clapped out 550 SX hull you could find. I didn’t plan on getting involved,..however, once I saw the completed body work and paint- I simply couldn't resist.

Here’s where things kicked off…

Mikeasaki, put a considerable amount of time in removing the top deck, and then completely defoaming the lower section of the tray. At this stage, I got involved in the project. The bulkhead got reinforced. A 2.25” aluminum exhaust tube was added. And, a second 1/2 inch cooling line was plumbed in. All conduits, bulkhead, and leak points were 5200’d.


Mikeasaki , then spent half of that winter shaping and fitting the new top deck. Finally, we were ready to bond the two hull halves together.
