95 sea doo xp 720 motor falls on face after warmed up and carb build

hello, had the carbs rebuilt and converted to premix, and runs awesome, but once warmed up if you cut it off it is hard to start and once started, even if you hold the throttle open it stays at 1500 rpm. then if you ease off the throttle and gradually open it up, it runs good again. any thoughts? got to be fuel related, right? thanks a lot.

Bad needle and seats in the carbs , bad o-rings around the needle and seats , excessive rotary valve clearance could all cause this , you say they were rebuilt what exactly what was done to the carbs, were the fuel lines replaced, fuel petcock cleaned or checked, filter on the bottom of the fuel pickup checked and cleaned . lots and lots of variables here .

There is also the possibility that the cylinder o-rings are leaking water into the engine., like I said lots and lots of variables here.

I should stress, it ran like a champ and great compression, then the carbs were done, and since then the problem started. i bleieve the fuel lines were replaced, and carb kits put in, and i know was converted to premix. Just seems like this has got to be fuel supply related since it was fine until the carbs were rebuilt.

Just a heads up the parts that go bad usually are the needles and seats , they do not come in a carb kit , they have to be bought separately , also if someone put the wrong size needle and seat in the carbs it would defiantly do this . I believe that setup uses a 1.2 needle with an 80 gram black spring , any deviation without using the correct spring to compensate is going to cause havoc.

Usually I find that when something was running fine and someone changed something that is usually the problem , I put zero faith in anyone elses work until they prove to me that they know what they are doing .

Let me ask you this do you have to choke it to crank it up or does it crank with no choke, if so it's way too rich, no Seadoo cranks cold without a choke or primer being used ever.

Way too rich somewhere , I would start with a popoff test on the carbs to see if it's the o-rings or the ACTUAL needle and seats that are damaged
