What's a cheap mag pump in your opinion? Also what should I be looking for when buying pumps aside from the corrosion.
I feel like I'm asking dumb questions but I really don't know too much about all this.
Anything second hand, I prefer to stay away from one piece pumps but that’s personal preference. You can snag up “sit-down” skat pumps relatively cheap and pull the stainless core out of the aluminum housing and squeeze them into stand ups too. Browse here and Facebook and I’m sure you can find a pump for around 6-800. You really can’t go wrong with any major brand and there’s no use splitting hairs if you’re saving money.
Most common issues are chipped veins, rubbed down driveshaft splines, and stripped cone threads.

Dude if there was a award for dumb questions I’d have a gnarly trophy room haha

Haha respect. Ya I mean as my first AM ski I'll try to stick with the 2 piece as it seems more user friendly to work on.
Cool so that's the plan I guess. Buy a stock 155, look for a cheap pump in meantime.

I just want to ride the damn thing instead of me waiting for 15k to fall in my lap.

Not bad, a stubby would be a good idea.
You’ll have to ask Lundy to cut your driveshaft down for you then too.
Might be able to get one with nozzles too for around that price.
Likely chance I'm buying a xscream trim system so nose cone and nozzle are just parts I won't need. Also who is Lundy haha

Stator vanes can be shorter when more of them are used. You want the least amount of volume between the impeller and nozzle. The easiest way to make a 12 vane pump more efficient is to simply move the shorter vanes aft and modify the driveshaft to "setback" the impeller. Thats where the buzzword comes from.

Awesome thank you.
