I called a well known engine builder who told me not to worry too much about it. According to him, the main reason for them being there is that case halves are matched as a pair and halves from different motors can thereby not be used.
I'm replacing crank seals and might have forgotten to put one of the dowel pins between the case halves before assembling the rest of the motor. (not the ones in the crank, those are in place)
The motor is now completely assembled, do I tear it down again? Is it a big deal to run without one...
I am looking for a voltage regulator for a Kawasaki JS. I'm not sure which year the ski is or if the electrics are from a 440 or 550, but the the old (broken) regulator is OEM 21066-3004 (1981-1992 JS440) (WSM replacement part 004-228), without rev limiter.
The problem is they don't make this...
I don't have the head yet. I was considering buying the Kommander head but was told that aftermarket flame arrestors are required. Just wanted to check before I buy as I'd like to keep the stock flame arrestors.. So I guess any head will fit with some trimming of the plastic cover..
Is there any way to get the Kommander head to fit with stock flame arrestors on a RN SJ?
Which heads fit with stock flame arrestors besides ADA?
Thanks
