But you have to remember he's trying to ease back into the sport like he said, and someone who isn't a diehard wont drop 10-15K on a setup, he wants a hull that he can use kawi part in, it's much cheaper to adapt the kawi setup than to buy an entire SJ setup.

Complete sense. I'm in a very similar position, I have all the kawi stuff and I'm trying to decide on a hull. I'm assuming you would pick yamaha for the no budget ski because of the sheet amount of freestyle specific parts made for them v.s kawi? At least that's what I've noticed.
