i use egg sinkers for fishing. You can find a size to fit tightly into the hose and you can drill them out to whatever size you need. I have used them for years to tune the flow of water.

i had one that was all clogged up. I ran an old bilge pump in a container of CLR and pumped it through the pipe for about an hour. The pipe Has run flawlessly ever since.

the 650 yamaha in a 550 hull makes for a great 550. more power than the 550 motor an the 650 yamaha will last forever. I have had many customers do this just because they had the 650 motor left over. All of them were pleased with what it does to wake up the 550 hull. this kit is well designed...

check you pump as well. the pump liners can swell up and cause a hard spot.

I run a restrictor in the hose that goes to the stinger on the pipe. All I use is an egg sinker for fishing, then drill it out to 1/16", it fits in the hose nice and tight, and you can always drill it out for some more water.
