    Intake air leak?/Run away engine

I'll have to try the rubber sheets in the future. The expansion plugs work great for checking anything below the top of the intake but will hide any issues between the base of the carb and top of the intake.

    Intake air leak?/Run away engine

    Intake air leak?/Run away engine

On my way to pick up some 1211, pricey isn't it? ($30.00) I know its cheaper online but i want to ride this weekend. I'll report back after I see how this all works out.

    Intake air leak?/Run away engine

NOOO! This was/is a full on pull the lanyard, hit the stop button still going WFO condition. Had to wide open the throttle to kill it.

    Intake air leak?/Run away engine

Got ya on the water tank test, i realized the possibility but was over chasing the leak with soapy water. I had sprayed all my test equipment first and only when I dunked the pressure gauge underwater did I find out it was leaking from inside the gauge itself. Can tell ya though, it's 99.9%...

    Intake air leak?/Run away engine

That's one of the next steps, I was just using a thick grease with the block off plates. I was trying to avoid making any kind of a mess while testing but I think I'm past that point.. My lean condition is causing a total run away engine. I can't see how to lean of a setting or jet would...

    Intake air leak?/Run away engine

WaveBlaster 701 with dual 44 SBN's on Riva intake. I have been chasing a run away condition. I had a rear seal pushed out a bit so I replaced all the crank seals and "assumed" I was all good. Reinstalled the engine and had an immediate run away again the minute I fired it up in the shop...

    Blaster Steering Cable Dirction

Paid no attenting when I removed the steering cable a few months back.. Installing new one today and see now there is a slight difference in lengths on the ends. Seems to me the shorter end goes at the handle bar end and longer to the pump. Just want to be sure before I start shoving it down...

    Packing/Pump seal to shoe direction

I didn't pay attention when I pulled the old seal off. From looking at the parts list, it looks like the flat side goes up against the shoe and the side with the V towards the pump. Sound right?

    Waveblaster shaft removal from pump

Water had gotten in and all the grease was milky so I wanted to rebuild it. Rebuilding wasn't the issue, getting the impeller off was the challange.

    Waveblaster shaft removal from pump

I finally got it apart and wanted to share that info. ( I hate threads that don't have a conclusion or solution) After 5 or 6 attempts of PB Blaster, freezing it overnight, heating with propane, and then striking and leveraging on the impeller removal tool, I gave up on that. I went to a...

    Waveblaster shaft removal from pump

I bought the tool from SBT, called them this morning and they are sending me a new one at no cost. I am going to put the entire damn thing in the freezer for about half a day then heat the impeller up extra good.. and give it another go when the tool gets here.

    Waveblaster shaft removal from pump

I soaked the impeller all week with PB Blaster while I was waiting for the tools to arrive.. heated it up, turned clockwise ( drew an arrow on impeller to show which way I am turning it) and pow... tool just sheered off the lugs.
