I need to change my head gasket on a yamaha 760 engine. I have a 3 layer steel head gasket from Vertex. Does it require sealant like 1211? All layers, or just the outer layers? I'm sure this has been answered many times before but my searches came up empty.
Thanks for the specs and suggestions. Waiting on pop off gauge and I'll pull carbs apart today if I can get to it to find out what jets are in them.

Thanks, Kevbo. I kept the original springs when doing the rebuild. My popoff guage was broken when i went to check so have another on the way to check. What should pop off be? If its out of spec which springs would i need to purchase?

having trouble dialing in the bottom end. It states and idles, but stalls if grab half to full throttle. If I baby it on the way up I can get it going.

I’m rebuilding an X2 that was apart for years. I believe it’s a 1990 model year. I can’t seem to find 2 bolt holes that match up to the CDI in the typical spot. Was there a mounting plate I may be missing?
Sounds like you had a bulb type primer installed in the handlepole, the bulb broke and is now leaking gas. If you don't want the bulb primer, pull the gas line out of the pole, back through the hull and cap it off where it feeds from the main gas line. You should find it tapped into the main...
