Thanks for the diagram. I'll have to look inside again. I remember the white with red only. I have an Advent ignition and simply did a plug and play with another stator.
The stator is a used 61x Yamaha part and I lined up the marks on it before tightening it down.
What are these white enhancer wires? I don't remember seeing them but two greens were there.
My battery wasn't charging so I mistakenly changed the stater. Turns out the battery was too bad to accept a charge. I have a brand new battery now but the starting is odd. I get a backfire during cranking but when I stop pressing the start button, it lights up and runs fine. Almost like the...
I don't need a fire extinguisher in it but I like to keep other stuff in there to stay dry but the cap has been over tightened and cracked. I need a new cap.
Thanks guys. When I throw my weight really far forward, I end up with a lot of strain on my wrists when I land and occasionally my feet don't stay in the holds so the back end zings around nicely but without me! I better watch that Stoyer vid again... Hey, when he says 'leverage' is he...
I still can't seem to land totally inverted or vertical. I've seen guys do perfect ones with no set up wake and I can't manage one even with a wake. The only reason I can come up with is that it looks like I'm still leaning to the outside rather than into the direction of rotation. Does that...
Here's a pic of a better one.
Right when I think I have it consistently nailed though, I'll try one and end up in the air with arms on the bars, but crossed because my feet have come out of the holds and I'm hanging over the side of the hood superman style trying not to smash into the ski on...
Wow, is Art at Jet Works ever knowledgeable. He too said that the pop off pressure was low. He also mentioned the affects of the flow control valve setting (not opening too early) and adding a 4mm restrictor to the pisser off of the head to keep water pressure on the head pipe. Set the...
Funny you should mention tank pressure because it does hold positive pressure that I notice when I open the gas cap. The one way valve allows air in to offset the fuel burn so why would more air than that go in? Do you vent the tank both ways: in and out?
I agree about the pop off pressure...
This engine hits hard from mid to top end but doesn't run clean on the bottom. The lack of low end power is really noticeable doing a tail stand for example.
Here is the setup:
Main: 160
Pilot: 125 (recently changed from 130 which helped a bit)
Low Speed: 2 T out
High Speed: 2 T out
Needle...
Back from a week of practice...
Sorry, no pics but I have to say 'thanks' for the tips. I have it wired now for the most part. The biggest single thing that helped for me was the "eat the gas cap" comment.
I have to remember to nail the throttle when I land just as I nose in for that...
I've got a week on the lake coming up soon so I'll see how it goes. The 'look where you want to go' and 'lead with your head' theory also should help because that's exactly how it works with mountain bikes.
