The bell shaped piece is a very tight fit into the the scupper tube. It's not going anywhere, especially once you epoxy the plate on the back. I did not use the set screws. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I went through two Battery tender batteries and three autocraft lithium batteries before I officially gave up on lithium batteries. They seemed to last fine for flat water riding with total loss or a charging system if properly maintained. Every time I put one in the surf it would self destruct.

Even the slightest amount of water ingestion will kill plugs rather quickly, especially in salt water.
