If you got slip on bottom, you probably just had the wrong pitch impeller. This will happen with any style iimpeller if you're too low in pitch for the engine set up. That Hooker can always be repitched to work for you, but a wrong pitch doesn't make it a bad impeller. Let me know if I can help...
