Video of a me towing a friend on skis. Went surprisingly well. We managed to do it successfully on the first attempt. Boat got the skier up, and then transferred behind the standup with use of a second tow rope.
I think this could be done by dock starting a skier too.

I can't say my skis finish is smooth anymore and is a fine shade of white with off white stains all over.
I don't think the added drag would be anything other than someone doing top speed runs on calm water would be able to notice.

I am still unsure about the rough texture of the bed liner.
The engineer inside me is screaming about surface finish and boundary layer.

Powder coat cures around 350F-400f. I did my 61x case. They are cast aluminum so I don't think you have to worry about changing material properties by annealing. You also should look at any epoxy they used as filler as it may be brought above its Tg point. I did mine in a large toaster oven I...
Aeropoxy (room temp cure) is a little cheaper and has slightly better strength characteristics if I remember correctly. Wicks aircraft is a good source for it.
The tank vent valve is bad $32 part, does anyone know of a cheap alternative (my $150 ski is getting expensive quick).
I pulled the motor to prepare for motor mounts that are on the way and tested the crankcase everything seems to be fine.
From what I've read it sounds like the fuel tank vent...
So I bought a 1978 js440 for $150, first ski first two stroke.
Pistons/rings new
I had to reseal the crankcase
cleaned the carb and made sure all the gaskets were installed properly (mikuni nb38)
I ran stock ngk BR7ES plugs with the ngk recommended gap for a 440.
Carb set at slightly richer...
