I have no problem drilling and pulling the plugs, I've done it on LOTS of motorcycles. Are they accessable without having to remove the carbs? And from what you are saying, the factory screws are not reachable even with a tiny screwdriver?
From day one (bought used 2 years ago) my stock engine '07 SJ has needed some throttle to start even when warm. Once started, it idles, accelarates and runs great. I want to try richening up the idle mix to see if that will help. This is my first Yamaha and I haven't looked yet but I want to...
Last evening I learned how critical the superjet is to your weight placement. I paid really close attention and made some improvement. I just need more ride time...
I did see that zero has some sponsons as well. However, I ride fresh water so I sometimes get flat water. I have heard that adding front sponsons can have a some negative effects when riding flat water. Can someone offer some input about that please?
Glad to hear I'm not the only one experiencing this. It's not that it turns too sharp but that it is somewhat unpredictable.
Tubbies would make it turn sharper all the time? That would be a plus if so. Dang though, I'll have to spend another $400 just to get rid of this problem?
So Curb...
I'm just getting back into riding a standup after 20 years away. I used to like riding freestyle and would also set up a course to carve the bouys. I've had a couple of standups in between but being a small business owner, I don't get to ride as much as I want/need. I'm having an issue while...
I agree with sparkplug, craftsman used to have some pretty decent tools for the money but their quality has gone down hill. I guess they are trying to compete with Northern Tool and Harbor Freight.
I've got a Craftsman in inch pounds and the metric equivalent, an SK in 10 to 100 foot pounds and the metric equivalent (the one I use the most) and a Craftsman in 20 to 150 foot pounds and the metric equivalent. All click stop. They have all served me well since I've gone through 18...
Maybe I've found a solution to my dilemma. My girlfriend said she would be willing to go along and just sit on shore and read her book. I'd have to take all three machines but that wouildn't be a problem since I modified my trailer to carry all three anyway. I could then put one of the...
Come to think of it, maybe if you make them both perform very similar you will decide to sell one and make me an offer on my buying the SXR. Go for it!!!:bananajump:
I've owned an SXR and I wish I had kept it. I agree, the SXR is very good at what it does and doing that is lots of fun. At the same time, the SJ is very good at what it does and doing that is lots of fun. That is my point Matt; you have both, why try to make them more similar? Again, this...
IMHO, you should leave the SXR as a carver and use the SJ for when you want to get air. Why try to make them ride the same. Both have their own personalities now. You are lucky enough to have one of each, use them at what they are best for.
