Thanks for all of the help. I tried the acetone trick and after a few metres of cloth and 2 litres of acetone the bottom is tack free! Now it's time to sand and buff. Thanks guys.

Thanks for all of your input. It's very helpful. The ski is for sale for £500 which seems to be the going price for any x2 overhere regardless of condition, although the real mint ones are a tad more expensive but very hard to find!
