Ok, I couldn't kill those switches I posted in this thread earlier. I tortured them with salt water, hot water, heat and cycled them in and out of crap for weeks. Includes operating it under water a couple hundred times.
For cheap made in Taiwan switches, they are awesome. Just over $1 each...
Those switches came in today. Damn that was fast.
They all checked out electrically but one had bad threads. At least I know which one to torture now. Makes me worry a little about how much you can torque them down. Was able to tighten the others pretty well. Maybe just use some lock-tite...
Been running pressure treated, carpeted with Bunk Mates. They work great. I am sure they scratch things up a bit but so will the 2x4 when the carpet wares.
I am thinking not to carpet next time. This way water won't be held on the 2x4 by the carpet and you can see if there are any problems...

Two things the way I see it.
1. It is a toy. You have to remember that. If you can't or don't want to work on it yourself, you need to be able to pay for someone else to do it.
2. The farther you get away from stock, the more #1 above applies in most cases
But damn it is fun!
