ADA Girdle Question

From the looks of it, the ADA girdle kit has studs that screw into the block. These studs don't actually hold the cylinder itself down, but rather the clamping force is achieved when the bolts on top of the head sandwich the head/cylinder down to the case? Is this correct?

Are there advantages or disadvantages as compared to other types of girdle kits that have the nuts portion on the bottom that actually holds the cylinder base to the case?

I've also seen some guys that use O-rings on the studs to keep water out of the threads in the case. That seems like a good idea as well.

You are correct it holds the cylinder via clamping force, using the girdled head keeps your ported cylinder from cracking from the vibration. I have used ADA for years without any trouble. I usually give the studs a good coating with anti seize, but I only ride in freshwater, the o-rings are probably a good idea in a salt water situation.

Sounds good. I had to examine several pictures to figure out that's what was going on.

Any luck on finding those two mounts?
