need to get rid of this loss , help

hi everyone .,

i just bought a Freestyle sj with a Total loss .. its really bothering me because i cant go with friends freeriding and turn off the sj ,. swim and go back riding .. its not a daily use ...

i know that total loss do not charge the battery and thats my problem ..

any help how can i modify the total loss to recharge the battery ? and how much of HP or power am going to lose when i do that ?

THank you friends !

i asked someone , he told me that the total loss do not have any recharging coil so it can give more Horse power ., and someone else also told me that its taking more power than recharging .. but i dont know what to do with this .. am even having starting problem .. i cant start the motor unless i use a motor booster charge bag and throw the SJ in the water then go around , when it turns off i can only start it twice or 3 times then the battry goes dead ... at the end i find some of my friends to pull me to the shore , goo back home and it ends up to turn me unhappy with this Machine .. the total loss is ruining my life :banghead::confused:

It's pulling the juice to run the spark from the battery instead of the stator.

Find out why...

It's a total loss system, there is not stator, only a trigger coil.

I'd double check your battery, take it to an auto parts store and have them load test it. You should be able to get a couple of tanks out of it.

Do you run a bilge pump? Does your ski start right up or do it take a lot of cranking?

I had MSD t/l on my 550 and took it on an overnight trip once, no problem at all.

??? Take your Batt to VatoZone and have them load test it, I would think you need a new battery. Having to boost it before you ride is not going to cut it. Try a known good battery and crank it with that, if is cranks good, I would get a replacement.

i run double bilge .., it take's lots of cranking ! lots i mean sometimes it takes an hour just to start the engine ., but once it starts its easy to start it again in the water

One idea would be to see if you have a load on your batt at rest. Put a test light in line between your positive terminal and positive battery post and see if the light glows. Or could he check the load while running with an amp meter?

taking an hour to start we drive me nuts.... and that is a huge drain on your battery, plus dual bilges.. do you shut them off when taking a break? do you NEED 2 bilges?

seal the front of your hood, disconnect one of the bilges and shut the other bilge off when not riding

I am no engine guru, but I would try to figure out why it is so hard to start. THAT is what is eating up your batteries.

Had the same problem with my ski and it was the starter. When starting the starter used so much power there was none for the spark. I replaced the starter and get about 2 tanks between recharge on my TL ski

Get a new battery (dry cell) and maybe a new starter. I got 3 days of riding my odessey battery and it was still cranking hard when I got home on the 3rd day.
